Kidnapped from their respective homes a few hours before the military coup of August 30, 2023, by soldiers wearing balaclavas armed with assault rifles, without an arrest warrant or judicial authority.
Total absence of international standards relating to the right to a fair trial, making the deprivation of liberty arbitrary. Furthermore, it results from discrimination based on the social origin of Sylvia and Noureddin, wife and son of the former head of state.
Presented as guilty by the state press, defamed and deliberately condemned by public opinion on the basis of accusatory staging.
Periods of prolonged detention in military premises in the basement of the Presidential Palace, outside the prison system, also a place of torture.
Banned from contact with their family and lawyers.
Psychological and physical torture (repeated blows with fists, crowbars, hammers; whipping with a plumbing pipe, water torture; prolonged and repeated electrocutions with an electric gun, etc.).
Prolonged isolation in a completely empty cell, prolonged periods of food deprivation, deliberate flooding of cells, no access to hygiene, no right to walk, no access to daylight.
Illegal seizures of almost all personal assets outside of any legal framework and under torture.
Obstruction of the principle of equality of arms and the adversarial principle, obstruction of the rights of the defence. Prolonged absence of hearing and progress in the investigation. No judicial debate on systematically renewed preventive detentions.
