THE
MOVEMENT

On August 29, 2023, a few hours before the military coup in Gabon, the wife and eldest son of President Ali Bongo Ondimba were kidnapped by the military junta.
This hostage-taking is then disguised as a legal affair : in order to justify the coup d'état, the junta accuses Noureddin and Sylvia of crimes they did not commit while condemning them in the eyes of public opinion with scandalous stagings.
Noureddin and Sylvia were locked up in inhumane conditions and subjected to numerous torture sessions during which the new government seized the Bongo family's assets without any court decision and in total secrecy.
Noureddin and Sylvia are hostages arbitrarily detained in the basement of the Presidential Palace from which they never leave.
They are not allowed to contact their lawyers or their families.
There is no judicial progress or trial.
Their physical and mental health is alarming and we ask the Gabonese authorities for their immediate release.
